Basic Handgun 101/102
Our Basic Handgun Course starts with Course 101 and is intended for people with little or no shooting experience. It is an introduction to basic shooting safety, knowledge, and principles which allow the shooter to safely operate a handgun. We touch on everything from safely handling handguns, types of handguns, types of ammunition, storage of your firearm, loading and unloading your firearm, proper stance, grip, and sight alignment, and much much more. Basic Handgun 101 has NO LIVE FIRE portion. We utilize the SIRT Pistol and Rubber Guns for training. This course alone will not prepare you for the Texas LTC Course. Completion of Basic handgun 101/102 will be needed to be prepared for the License to Carry Course. Basic Handgun Course 102 will move you to the next level and allow you to implement what you have learned in class on a LIVE FIRE range. Students will need to demonstrate weapon safety and muzzle discipline while handling any firearm. We will cover Range Commands, Range Safety & Briefing, reloads, common malfunctions, trigger control and reset, proper sight alignmet and target distance, proper stance and grip, breathing control, follow through, and much more. We even cover some timed firing drills so you can see you have plenty of time to take the accurate shot and not rush. during your LTC qualification. Our Basic Handgun Courses will not make you a high speed low drag operator with the pistol, it will however leave you with a good solid foundation from which to build your knowledge. Even as instructors we learn something new every time we teach or take a class ourselves.

ACtive shooter response
This seminar covers knowledge and tactics to thwart active shooters in public spaces, businesses, schools & places of worship. Find out what has been learned from an in-depth analysis of 165 Active Shooter events since Columbine. You will be given a clear snapshot of these events and specific information to help you prepare to counter and survive an active shooter event. In this class, you’ll review an analysis of data gathered from 48 mass shootings that have occurred since Columbine, to determine what can be learned from these tragedies, including whether a reduction in magazine capacity or the banning of any class of firearm would have changed the outcome. You'll also learn whether “gun-free” zones figure into the planning of these mass murderers; whether victim response at any mass shooting has made a difference; and whether “universal background checks” or other proposals by gun control advocates stand a chance of stemming the current trajectory of these shootings. This course summarizes this data with a comprehensive plan designed to eliminate the scourge of these shooters once and for all. Course Time: 4-5 Hours
